Just yesterday the renowned skate brand that is Vans proudly revealed their latest collaborative collection, this time created in partnership with the New York fashion designer, Sandy Liang.
The duo’s limited-edition collection features a mix of materials, colours and prints for a bold but youthful take on fashion. To be specific, Liang brings fuses her signature approach to design with five of Vans Classic footwear silhouettes as well as an array of garments.
Throughout this collection, Liang draws inspiration from her hometown of Bayside, Queens, and the variety of hand-me-downs from her youth that was provided by her grandma. This has taken the form of vintage-feeling yet contemporary-looking pieces, such as the playful pink boilersuit, furry zebra-print Slip-Ons, blue snake-print shorts and a cosy sidebag.
Speaking on the collection Liang stated its significance to her, saying: “To see my ideas come to life on such an iconic collection of footwear and apparel is a dream come true” adding: “This collection embodies the playful dreaminess of the nineties, as well as the grittiness of downtown New York City.”
