The Australian professional skateboarder that is Shane O’Neill has been influencing skate culture since his first sponsorship deal at age 14. However, now that the 30-year-old is receiving his first signature shoe with Nike, it seems that his influence will only be growing in 2020.
The skate mogul shared the news via his socials, giving his fans and practitioners of the sport in general a first look at what to expect. Interestingly, the pair seems to boast a less-is-more philosophy, focusing functional design and durable materials above anything else. Consequently, the SB Shane lands with a nubuck forefoot, a canvas midfoot and suede overlays on both the lateral and medial sides.
As for the design, the Nike skate shoe looks to the global sportswear brand’s iconic Swoosh to decorate the lateral sides while Shane O’Neill’s sun motif can be found on the tongue. Last but not least, the whole pair is set to be adorned in simple and safe colourways, those being tan, black, grey and white.
Take a look at the upcoming Nike Shane SB shoe below, if you like what you see then you’re in luck as the pair are set to drop on the 1st of February for $80, approximately £70.
