Basketball legend Kobe Bryant, 41, has died in a helicopter crash, according to multiple reports in the American press.
Five people are believed to have died when a private helicopter went down in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, catching fire after hitting the ground.
TMZ have reported that Bryant was one of those on board. There were no survivors, despite the response of emergency services.
He has four children – Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and newborn Capri, Gianna was tragically on board when the helicopter went down and has also been pronounced dead. Our thoughts are with all who were close to them.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
