Keith Haring first grew to prominence after his pop art and graffiti-like work blossomed out of the New York City street culture of the 1980s. In fact, the creative carved out a unique aesthetic which later became one of the most significant to have been birthed in the industry.
Well, if you are a fan of the late artist, or you simply want to find out more, then you’re in luck as Haring’s “ICON” exhibition just recently opened at Rhodes Contemporary Art. Specifically, the exhibition consists of Haring’s graffiti, paintings, posters, prints by artist, and even a doodled pair of trainers. Furthermore, the space also features a selection of photographs taken by Martha Cooper, a collaborator of Haring who documented his historic paintings of the Bowery wall in New York.
