The iconic global sportswear conglomerate that is Nike has recently come out swinging with a brand new iteration of their UV-sensitive sneaker technology. As for how we know, none other than the renowned designer, Jeff Staple, shared a video of it in action to his very own personal Instagram account.
Specifically, we see a blacklight passing over a pair of Nike’s beloved Air Force 1s, the consequence being that the material springs into colour, with yellow and red blocks playing off each other via the glowing edges of the shoe. This is just one of the pieces of tech that Shanghai’s Nike House of Innovation is storing, The label is likely waiting for the process to be perfected before rolling it out once again, the reason being that their last UV-sensitive sneakers were commonly complained about after their eye-catching functionality faded away quickly after use.
As of yet, we have no release details regarding the pair, however, with excitement for the innovation building, it will only be a matter of time until we see this included in a release so stay tuned!
