Ariana Grande Gets “Small Charcoal Grill” Tattooed on her Hand

The American singer, songwriter, and actress that is Ariana Grande has not been having an easy time of it since the passing of her ex, Mac Miller, late last year. In fact, the artist has faced huge criticisms at many turns and it looks like this trend is set to continue into 2019.

Rather interestingly, and hilariously, the singer went to debut her latest tattoo to her millions of followers, however, she shortly found out that instead of saying "7 Rings" in Japanese kanji, it read "Small Charcoal Grill". As for how such a mistake could be made, the character 七 in the kanji language means “seven” and 輪 means “ring” or “wheel.” Unfortunately, Ariana, decided to miss out the middle character that correctly connects them and instead settled for 七輪, however, this instead means shichirin - which is a small charcoal grill used for Japanese barbecue.

Having said this, Ariana took to social media to boast her tattoo fix, although that has also come into criticism, the reason being that the “fix” is based on the assumption the tattoo will be read from left to right, top to bottom. But going left to right, top to bottom isn’t how Japanese is supposed to be read. If you read it n traditional style it will say “Small charcoal grill, finger *heart*.” However, even if you read it left to right the initially-missing character is on a separate line, meaning that in the best case scenario it reads:
