The opening of a two-story villa that sits both above and below the Indian Ocean in the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has secured itself the title as the world’s first underwater hotel. Specifically, the Muraka hotel has seen it’s insides decked out with a set of luxury offerings such as a private gym, a bar, an infinity pool, butler’s quarters, an ocean-facing bathtub and a private jetty all making an appearance on the surface floor.

As for what’s going on underneath the water, five meters below the waves is a king-size bedroom, living area and a bathroom, all of which is housed in an all-glass structure which provides the very lucky visitor a 180-degree panoramic view of the ocean’s marine life while a spiral staircase and elevator connects the two stories.

The hotel has officially opened, all you need to do to bag yourself a night there is hand over $50,000 a night. Now of course this isn’t a realistic price for the average person, however, if you have the money then you may be impressed to hear that with that includes the cost of travel to the island with a private seaplane and the use of a speedboat while your there. Furthermore, the hefty price tag will include dedicated staff, a 24-hour butler and chef service as well as unique dining experiences and activities.
