Johnny Depp has undeniably been responsible for creating one of Disney’s most iconic characters after the American actor, producer, and musician took the role of Jack Sparrow in the franchise’s first movie back in 2003. Well, those who remember the film and the number of sequels that followed will be saddened to hear that Depp will no longer be involved in the franchise moving forward.

Specifically, Walt Disney Pictures reportedly dropped the actor due to their desire to inject new life into one of Disney’s most successful storylines, although rumours have circulated that the decision was also in part due to the difficulty involved when it came to working with the megastar on the franchise’s last instalment, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.’

Now whether the next movie will see a new version of the previously told stories or a whole new storyline, we think it will likely be the latter. However, no matter what, there is no arguing that the movie’s success is now unsecured.
