The Chicago-based architecture and design firm that is Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill have been given the opportunity to create what will be considered the world's largest residential building. Specifically, the company will be putting the hands on the New York Skyline with their creation that is set to stand proudly on the fittingly-named Billionaire's row.
However, the Central Park Tower won't just be a spectacle from the outside, in fact, the inside is set to arrive with a 14th floor that will feature a 60-foot swimming pool, cabanas, a bar, a screening wall, billiards space, screening/function rooms, food and beverage service as well as an outdoor children’s playground. Furthermore, the 16th floor will house a 63-foot swimming pool, basketball court, squash court, a fitness centre, sauna, steam treatment rooms and much more.
The co-founder of the firm taking the project on, Adrian Smith, recently had this to say about the venture: “One of the greatest responsibilities of architecture is to continue to elevate experiences yet create structures that are elegant and respectful. Central Park Tower was designed to take advantage of the spirit of the great city of New York and create an address worthy of its location on Billionaires Row and Central Park.” Take a look at the building's renderings below and start saving for that holiday there.
