The Japanese multinational photography and imaging company, Fujifilm, recently unveiled its forthcoming piece of GFX tech that will take the place of the brand’s flagship medium format camera, and with it comes some pretty incredible specs. Specifically, the upcoming addition to Fujifilm’s GFX line will take the title for being the world’s first mirrorless medium format camera with a 100-megapixel sensor, as well as this, the tech is set to arrive with 4K video capabilities as well as built-in image stabilization. However, having said this no official spec notes have been released as of yet, but the camera is rumoured to be able to record in the previously mentioned 4K quality with 10bit, 4:2:0 capabilities internally, while externally it could achieve video in 4K, 10bit, 4:2:2 externally via a HDMI output.
As for price, the forthcoming piece of tech is going to be released at around $10,000 so it likely won’t be your next holiday camera, however, those working in the field see it as a great opportunity to cop a camera similar in quality to the Hasselblad H6D-400c MS which is currently coming in at around $50,000. If you like the sound of the camera then sit tight as it is expected to see a drop date sometime in 2019.
