The first fur-free major fashion week has confirmed to take place at none other than this year’s London Fashion Week after all of the designers confirmed via a British Fashion Council survey that they are ditching the material.  Specifically, all 80 of the designers confirmed for the September line-up are either ditching the look or using an artificial alternative that aims to reduce the cruelty and environmental damage involved in the fur industry.

In a recent statement, the BFC had this to say: “The BFC survey results reflect a cultural change based on ideals and choices made by designer businesses, international brands as well as consumer sentiment but also encouraged by the stance of multi-brand stores who are moving away from selling fur.”
