Today the iconic entertainer that Barry Elliot – who you can see above – also known as Barry Chuckle, was pronounced dead at the age of 73. Specifically, his manager Phil Dale stated that he “passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family.”

Barry was known most prominently for being one-half of the Chuckle Brothers as he and his sibling, Paul, entertained audiences with their show ‘ChuckleVision’ which aired on the BBC between 1987 and 2009. As well as this, the duo has appeared on stage, in books, and even on a track with the rapper Tinchy Stryder as the three of them raised money for the African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust in 2014.

It is a tragic loss for many, although, no one would have been hit harder with the news than Paul Chuckle who as of yet has only made one public statement himself which read: “I’ve not just lost my brother, I’ve lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.” This was then followed up with a message from his wife who was asked by Paul to thank the fans for their display of ongoing support for him and love for his late brother.
