Since making its debut in the year 2000, Honda’s Asimo has experienced many upgrades and reworks in order to push the boundaries of humanoid robotics, leading to a robot that has been able to differentiate between types of objects as well as problem solve, run, climb stairs and much more. However, it appears that the car manufacturing company has decided to put a halt to the robot’s development, but for good reason.

Specifically, Honda is said to be shifting its focus to more practical forms of robots, such as ones that can be used in areas such as transportation and healthcare. The good news is that Asimo’s tech will be integrated, in part, into upcoming projects so the renowned robot’s legacy can live on.
