IKEA‘s collaborative collection with Virgil Abloh titled “MARKERAD” has been highly anticipated since we got a sneak peek at the potential offerings a while back. Well if you have been looking forward to the collaboration then you are in luck as the duo have released some official imagery from the collection. Abloh himself turned up to IKEA’s Democratic Design Days 2018 event in order to introduce the designs to the public, while doing so he had this to say: “I want each item to bring a sense of pride, and I want the great design to be the biggest reason why you get it.”

The items that were in the spotlight were the triangular red doorstop/chair accessory, a glass cabinet and a large-sized receipt rug, all of which you can view below. Virgil started reworking such staple house items by focusing on those bits and pieces at home that you never give credit to such as receipts, nails and doorstops, now putting those at the forefront of the designs to allow them to finally get some credit. For example, the cabinet that features several glass panes surrounded by a wooden frame is accessible by a red handle in the shape of a nail, as well as this, the previously mentioned doorstop and receipt see as equally useful modifications.

Take a look at some of the imagery below, if you like what you see then sit tight as the collection is set to drop in 2019.
