The American R&B singer-songwriter, SZA took to her Twitter account recently to keep her fans up to date with her situation and even vent some anger. Specifically, she wrote: “My voice is permanently injured,” adding “Tonight was the test. That settles that.” “I just wanna be left alone, my priorities are f*cked up,” finishing with “They been f*cked up. I need space, goodbye.” before deleting all of these tweets.

Concerns for the creative peaked when she had to drop out of the TDE Championship Tour due to swollen vocal chords, however people were feeling more confident when seeing that she was set to make a return to the stage at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, but clearly she wasn’t the least bit happy with the state of her voice.

As for how this problem arose, SZA said that she had been using steroids to help her through her very demanding touring schedule so it’s not like this came out of nowhere. “For anyone who hasn’t seen this, I’ve been touring for 11 months. This didn’t happen overnight. I’ve been troubleshooting for a while now and usually steroids and pushing through help. They don’t this time. I’m not sick my voice just won’t f*cking work.” Luckily the TDE CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, made it known that she can have all the rest she needs as well as confirming they will get her the best treatment possible in a tweet that you can see below. I guess from here we will have to wait and hope for her speedy recovery.
