Sam Wills burst onto the scene in 2016 with the release of his debut EP ‘So Bright’ and the Karma Kid-produced single ‘Electrified’. Since then Wills has continued to collaborate with long-time friends Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei; featuring on songs such as Tom Misch’s standout track, ‘In The Midst of It All’ which has now gained over 8 million streams on Spotify. These are just a few of the reasons to be excited about his latest project.
Sam’s 4-track EP features previous standout singles such as ‘Kool Aid’ and ‘Walking Underwater’ as well as two new soulful tracks ‘The Both of Us’ and ‘Years’.
Specifically, the project kicks off with a funk-laden electro-beat, however, it shortly moves to ‘Walking Underwater’, a tempo-lowering smooth cut co-written by Pawws (Dua Lipa) and produced with Bhav and Jay Mooncie. As the project reaches the new single ‘The Both Of Us’, Wills sets to laying his voice down over a minimalistic drum beat with both of them being complemented nicely from the guitar provided by Tom Misch. Last but not least we see ‘Years’ not only round up the EP but contrast the previous track via the use of a funk-filled bassline as well as a more high-energy approach on the vocals which were co-written by Jordan Rakei.
