It doesn’t seem long ago that we covered Blue Lab Beats and the two singles they dropped as a way of announcing their highly-anticipated debut album ‘Xover’, yet here we are with the album just around the corner.

The prodigy duo that consists of producer NK-OK and multi-instrumentalist Mr DM. have been producing organic sounds via new unconventional studio techniques since an early age and it has appeared to have paid off, with the band’s debut releases Blue Skies and Freedom receiving widespread critical acclaim from the likes of Giles Peterson, Benji B, Toddla T, Huw Stephens, The Guardian, i-D, Jazz FM, Afropunk and more.

As for their latest project, it comes in the form of a cut that explores a mix of genres and sounds that have harmoniously complimented the array of rising talent that have all been featured. Furthermore, the whole album acts as literally a ‘cross over’ (Xover) of two distinct halves that will appeal to both jazz lovers and fans of a more eclectic sound, so there will be something for everyone.
