Fur and its place in fashion has been conversed many times over the years, but after protests took place during the Autumn/Winter 2018 shows during New York Fashion Week – most notably during Marc Jacobs display which ironically used faux fur –  it looks like the norms are changing.

Specifically, the likes of Armani, HUGO BOSS and Gucci have already made the change to fur-free products and Donatella Versace has come out recently stating her Italian luxury fashion label will make the change too. In an interview for 1843 magazine, she stated:

“Fur? I am out of that. I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion. It doesn’t feel right.”

Not only this but recently Tom Ford and Michael Kors also announced they would be making the switch after using real fur for years, however, the likes of Givenchy are still not convinced with fur appearing on the runway during their show this season.
