It didn’t take long for Adult Swim‘s Rick and Morty to reach a level of popularity and influence that many series desire. Specifically, it only took two seasons for fans to start petitioning about the absence of the third. However, after a surprise April Fools day airing of the first episode and a cliff-hanging follow up, fans have already started asking questions about season four, but now that one of the creators, Dan Harmon, responded to a query on Twitter people have been getting worried.

The tweet that Harmon replied to was rather harshly critical of his ability to write the next season, calling him a “lazy alcoholic” and although Dan’s response was mature and thought-out he dropped some news fans of the program didn’t want to hear, mentioning that season four hasn’t yet been officially ordered by a network. Although, having said this, it doesn’t mean that the program will never air as it almost definitely will, even if it takes Adult Swim’s rival networks – with many people suggesting Netflix – to step in and purchase the rights to the next season. What we can probably expect however is a delay in the production, although Rick and Morty fans might be used to that by now. Take a look at Dan Harmon’s tweet below.
