Over the last 60-years or so the NME magazine has developed its place as arguably the most renowned British music orientated publication around, keeping its audience up to date with anything related to music and the culture surrounding it.
This is why it was sad to hear them announced that they will no longer take their issues to the printing press but instead focus on publishing all of their updates, stories and articles online. As for the reason behind the move, NME stated it was down to the rise production costs as well as the various complications you face when trying to compete in a competitive print market.
This news will likely hit a few quite hard as it was very much what the youth used to rely on to get their updates before smartphones and the internet had been fully established, with the first issue going all the way back to the 7th of March 1952.
Take a look at the first cover of NME below and get ready to see how this change may affect the company as a whole.
